I have been working as a full-time performer and entertainer since 1990, and the key to my success is my versatility. Much of my comedy work is done privately for corporate clients and large organisations, at conferences, seminars and team building days. I specialise in tailoring material for the client, spending time researching the organisation, industry and particular themes of the conference.

I have also developed a public profile through writing and performing in shows (Pinky Pops In, The Truth About Love, The Candidates), radio (as a weekly columnist on Wellington's Newstalk ZB), and television (as Jenny Shipley on McPhail & Gadsby).

Along with Lorae Parry, I wrote, sang and acted in the musical comedies, The Truth About Love, (which ran for a sell-out season at Circa Studio in Wellington in December 2003, and continues to tour festivals since), and The Candidates, (which ran a sold-out extended season at Circa in 2005).  We are currently writing our third play together.

Celebrancy is also part of my ‘portfolio’.  I am a marriage and civil union celebrant, and I bring the same skills to this that I do to my performing work – warmth and humour, a well-written ceremony delivered with style and ease, and a day that runs smoothly, relaxing even the most nervous couples.  I also officiate at name-giving ceremonies and funerals.  Click on the Celebrancy link on the left for more details.

My first book, Heartsongs: Readings for Weddings, was published by Random House New Zealand in 2004, and made the top 10 best sellers’ list shortly afterwards.  It is now published by Random House in the UK.  My second book, Lifesongs: Readings for Milestones, was published by Random House New Zealand in 2006.  Click on the Books link on the left for more details.

In the 2004 New Year’s Honours list, I was made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM) for my services to entertainment.
